Zeltis is opening soon. This post sets out what we are building, what is planned for the start and what Zeltis will not be. Nothing described here can be used yet.
What Zeltis is
Zeltis is the self-custody money app: one app for holding, exchanging and spending crypto and euro, in which the keys to the wallet stay with the person who uses it.
The company is being set up in Riga, Latvia. Zeltis SIA is a company in formation. It plans to apply to Latvijas Banka for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider. Services are not available yet.
The main planned features
- A wallet only you control. The key is split in two parts and one of them stays on your phone; both parts are needed to sign a transfer. You will be able to export the key and use another wallet.
- Exchange at one clear price. Every exchange will show the rate, the fee and exactly what you receive before you confirm. The planned fee is 1.49% per exchange on the Standard plan and 0.49% on Plus, included in the price you see. The full price list will be published before launch and may still change.
- A card and a personal EUR IBAN. Both will be provided by partner e-money institutions under their own terms. No partner has been announced yet.
- Four assets at the start. Euro and US dollar stablecoins, Bitcoin and Ether.
We plan to start in Latvia, Spain and Portugal and then add other countries of the European Economic Area. Availability will be limited to EEA residents at launch. Zeltis will not serve US persons or residents of sanctioned jurisdictions.
What Zeltis is not
- Zeltis is not a bank and will not hold deposits. Your crypto sits in your own wallet.
- Zeltis will not pay interest, has no rewards programme and no token. It is a tool for holding, exchanging and spending.
- It is not outside the rules. You will verify your identity and transfers will be screened, as at any payment company.
How to follow
Two things can be used today. The first is the waitlist: leave an email address and we will write to you about the launch, and about nothing else. You can remove the address at any time.
The second is the demo app. It shows the whole planned flow with simulated numbers: no real money moves in it, there is no sign-up and nothing to install.
New posts will appear on this page and in the feed. Planned features, prices and countries can change before launch.
